Perfect stop for 2 families on a NZ South Island Road Trip Our two families had been zig-zagging across the South Island and we wanted to stop near but not in Queenstown, we live in a suburb so didn't want to spend part of our holiday in one. It was literally a 7 minute drive to the hear to Queenstown. That said we enjoyed the 3 days and did very little driving. Played heaps of Petanque (Bocce) which kept the adults and kids amused. Great area to do bike riding too. DazzLloyd Melbourne, Australia Reviewed 20 January 2015 Winter family getway!
Just had a fantastic winter get away with the family of 5 (1 toddler and 2 young children)! Despite the -8 degree mornings it was spectacular with frosty sunny days. The cottage is very well heated and cozy; the children loved the 3-tier bunk; there is plenty of exploring on the property and was lots of playing with icicles and frost. Having a whole house and safe section made a winter holiday much easier with busy children. And it was great to get them to bed and enjoy local wine by the fire! The location allows very easy access to both Queenstown, Arrowtown and the ski field. There is lots to do and see. I would love to come back in the summer and have a longer break as it would be great just pottering at the property and enjoying everything there is to do there. It was our 8th trip to NZ in the past 5 years and absolute favourite accommodation experience for our family so far. It was the absolute highlight of our trip to Queenstown this winter! We played board games by the fire and charades in the majestic gold chair. We ran around outside in the snow! We strengthened our bond as a family with books and talking. Thank you. Jewel On Speargrass is magnificent. The attention to detail is beautiful and the beds are super comfortable! It is perfectly located, centred between Coronet Peak Ski field, historic Arrowtown and vibrant Queenstown. Perfect views and beautiful house Everything from the moment we got in touch was perfect and would highly recommend staying here. The views of the surrounding mountains are so beautiful and this made for the perfect winters escape. Reviewed 17 June 2017 Dirk F Perfect cottage Well what can I say, we had a beautiful time at Jewel on Speargrass. It was the perfect accommodation to finalise wedding arrangements leading up to our wedding. It was an ideal location to get to Thurlby Domain (next property), Peregrine Winery (18 min drive) and gatherings in Queenstown (15 min drive), Arrowtown (10 min drive) and trips to Queenstown Airport (13 min drive). The cottage was well equiped with everything we needed for our week stay. It was exceptionally clean and tidy and we appreciated the mid stay clean the day before the wedding. It was the perfect size for our bridal party which slept up to 6 guests at one stage. There were many pre wedding photo opportunities at Jewel too and plenty of space for myself, my Mum and 4 bridesmaids to get ready. We at one stage had a team of 3 Hair and Makeup Stylists as well as a Videographer and Photographer and we were not in one another's way. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful gardens and the styling of the cottage. It fit in beautifully with the styling of our wedding too. One of our favourite things was how cosy it was when the fireplace was on. We felt very welcome from the first moment I even emailed and enquired to book Jewel on Speargrass. The ladies at Relax it's Done went out of their way to ensure every question of mine was answered in detail. This was greatly appreciated as I was planning the wedding from Australia. The ladies went over and above to ensure our stay was flawless. Jewel on Speagrass is absolutely breathtaking and peaceful. It is a perfect cottage to be in throughout all seasons. Reviewed 29 June 2017 A enchanting family escape We had an amazing 4 days in this magical location, ringed by snow-capped mountains. The house was quiet, cozy and comfortable - snuggling up in front of the log fire after a day in the cold was wonderful. The absolute highlight was waking up to find that it had snowed overnight, our girls were overjoyed! We hope to visit again. Salveo Auckland, New Zealand Reviewed 3 August 2017
